UK’s accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will open major opportunities for Malaysian exporters, especially SMEs, to access the UK market, said Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz after meeting UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy. Tengku Zafrul emphasised joint efforts to drive resilient and innovative economic growth. He also highlighted Malaysia’s recent high-level engagements with Australia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Palestine to strengthen trade ties. Separately, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim met Lammy to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as investment, energy transition, education, defence, digitalisation, and artificial intelligence.
