Virginie Viard Now Defended by Loyal Chanel Fans after Haute Couture Show

Virginie Viard, the now former creative director of Chanel who has been working for the brand in the last several decades, left the brand a few weeks ago. However, the recent haute couture show done by Chanel has left a lot of her fans talking about it. Apparently, she was not at the show.

According to ETX Daily Up, Chanel recently held its haute couture show, just three weeks after the abrupt departure of creative director Virginie Viard. Viard, who worked alongside Karl Lagerfeld for years, oversaw record sales last year.

However, murmurs of repetitive shows and scepticism led to her unceremonious exit in June. The latest collection, created by artisans, featured mediaeval capes, puffed-sleeve dresses, and classic tweeds. Viard’s departure was announced, leaving speculation about her successor, including names like Hedi Slimane and Marine Serre.

Virginie Viard defended by loyal Chanel fans

Luxury fashion YouTube expert, Super Dacob states that the mainstream media are not as kind to her as he hoped them to be. He adds that she did her job well, which was to preserve the Chanel brand the way that Coco Chanel did in the past. His followers are agreeing with his statements as well.

Unfortunately for the former creative director, there are a number of individuals and publications diminishing her work. Loyal Chanel fans appear to be siding with her as they feel that she has contributed immensely to the brand for the decades she has worked with them.

Regardless, if the brand were to continue on this path, it will be rather difficult to continue on. Most conventional media are stating that the brand is still going on strong. However, other luxury brands are in a pickle for the time being. It is unclear if Chanel will face the “luxury recession” or will they be able to avoid it.
