Global fintech firm Wise has integrated directly with PayNet, enabling DuitNow QR payments and expanding digital transaction capabilities in Malaysia. The move strengthens connectivity between international platforms and local payment infrastructure.
The integration allows Wise users to scan and pay using DuitNow QR codes directly through the Wise app. The feature is being rolled out progressively and will expand to support all DuitNow QR codes nationwide over the coming weeks.
Wise said the direct connection also supports DuitNow Transfer, allowing users to send money using a recipient’s mobile number or National Registration Identity Card (NRIC), with recipient name verification before funds are transferred.
The integration allows users and businesses to conduct seamless transactions, improving convenience and efficiency in everyday payments. It also supports cross-border financial activity by bridging global and domestic systems.

Analysts say collaborations like this accelerate digital adoption while enhancing financial inclusion. However, increased competition is expected as more fintech players enter the ecosystem and innovate rapidly.
The development reinforces Malaysia’s growing position as a regional fintech hub. Continued integration between global firms and local networks is likely to drive further innovation in digital financial services.
