Surge in domestic Investors Reflects Growing Confidence, Says Zafrul
Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz says Malaysia still has time to negotiate with the United States before a newly announced 25% tariff takes effect on August 1. Speaking from Rio de Janeiro after attending the BRICS Summit, Zafrul said the tariff hike was unexpected and that engagement with the US is ongoing. He confirmed that MITI has released an official statement and will hold a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Zafrul stressed Malaysia’s commitment to ensuring the country benefits from continued talks with the US.
