Azlan Shah Al Bakri Appointed New KTMB Group CEO

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad has announced the appointment of former Land Public Transport Agency director-general Datuk Azlan Shah Al Bakri as its new group chief executive officer, effective tomorrow. The company said the appointment reflects the board’s confidence in Azlan’s credibility, leadership and extensive experience within the public transportation ecosystem.

KTMB noted that the move aligns with its commitment to strengthen rail service delivery through phased, progressive and user-focused improvements. Chairman Datuk Ahmad Redza Abdullah said Azlan was selected based on his proven leadership record and strong governance background. He added that KTMB expects the new CEO to drive operational reforms, enhance service standards and expand strategic cooperation with key stakeholders. Azlan has pledged to prioritise safety, service reliability and operational efficiency to better serve rail users nationwide.
