Nissan, Honda, and Mitsubishi End Business Integration Talks, Shift to Strategic Partnership

Nissan, Honda, and Mitsubishi have terminated their memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a tripartite collaboration, as well as the separate MOU signed on December 23, 2024, regarding a potential business integration between Nissan and Honda.

End Business Integration

Despite extensive discussions on market conditions and management strategies, Honda’s proposal to make Nissan a subsidiary via a share exchange led both companies to conclude that maintaining independence would better support swift decision-making in the evolving electric vehicle market. Moving forward, all three companies will collaborate under a strategic partnership focused on intelligence and electrification to maximize corporate value.
