Cambodian-British national Chen Zhi was charged in New York for alleged wire fraud and money laundering
Singapore’s investigation into Cambodian tycoon Chen Zhi has intensified after local businessman Tan Yew Kiat was arrested last week. Tan, who reportedly has close ties to Chen, owns SRS Auto, a car leasing firm raided by Police. Authorities confirmed they are probing Chen and companies linked to him for suspected money-laundering offences, though details remain confidential as investigations continue.
SRS Auto previously received an uncommitted revolving loan facility from Skyline Investment Management, a company the US Treasury identifies as part of Chen’s criminal network. Tan also sits on the board of TGC Cambodia, a Phnom Penh pawnshop through which funds from Chen’s Cambodian operations were allegedly funneled into the regional car trade.
Chen, charged in absentia by the US Department of Justice, is accused of running a vast network linked to cyber scams, trafficking, and money laundering across multiple countries. Over S$150 million in assets connected to Prince Group have been seized in Singapore as global scrutiny of Chen expands.
