CIMB Commits RM2.5 Million in Flood Relief and Offers Financial Assistance to Affected Customers

Through its CSR arm, CIMB Foundation, the bank has also allocated RM2.5 million to aid flood victims and recovery effort

CIMB Group Holdings Berhad has announced a comprehensive aid package to support individuals, SMEs, and micro-SMEs impacted by the recent floods in Malaysia. Key measures include:

Six-Month Payment Relief: Impacted customers can apply for payment relief on loan and financing products under the “CIMB Flood Relief Assistance Plan,” with simplified application processes and waivers on late charges and fees.

SME Disaster Relief Facility: SMEs can access up to RM700,000 at preferential rates for additional cash flow support.

Fee Waivers: Charges for card replacements, statement requests, and other banking services are waived for flood-affected customers.

Insurance Claims: CIMB is expediting the processing of flood-related insurance claims in partnership with insurers.

Through its CSR arm, CIMB Foundation, the bank has also allocated RM2.5 million to aid flood victims and recovery efforts. Collaborating with NGOs like Kembara Kitchen, CIMB has contributed 80,000 ready-to-eat meal packs this flood season, supported by retort machines for efficient meal production.

Novan Amirudin, Group CEO, emphasized the bank’s commitment to sustainability and support for communities affected by extreme weather events.
