TANJONG MALIM, May 7 — CIMB Islamic has contributed RM500,000 through its EcoSave-i fund to support biodiversity conservation initiatives at the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Edu-Forest in Sungai Dara, Behrang.
UPSI Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Md Amin Md Taff said the strategic collaboration strengthens cooperation between universities, industry players and local communities through biodiversity research, environmental education and citizen science programmes.
The initiative is being implemented by UPSI’s Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation (CeBEC) with support from Universiti Community Transformation Centre (UCTC) and Forest House Sdn Bhd.
CIMB Islamic chairman Datin Azlina Mahmad said the collaboration reflects a collective responsibility in protecting biodiversity while building a sustainable knowledge ecosystem linking people, nature and future generations.
The strategic collaboration project was officially launched during a ceremony held at UPSI Edu-Forest, Sungai Dara, Behrang.
