DBS Foundation Donates S$6.5 Million to Support Pregnant Women from Low-Income Households

DBS Foundation has pledged S$6.5 million to support over 2,200 pregnant women from low-income backgrounds in Singapore. In partnership with KidStart, the funds will provide prenatal care packs, grocery vouchers, mental health support, and confinement meals for mothers. The programme, which targets families with a household income of less than $2,500, will support mothers from pregnancy until their child’s first year.

Expecting mothers will also benefit from financial literacy and mental wellness workshops. Additionally, the Singapore government will match DBS’s donation under the SG60 SG Gives initiative, creating a total of $9.75 million for social programmes. The aim is to promote healthy eating habits and reduce the mental health vulnerabilities that affect both mothers and their children.
