Jungheinrich Marks 25 Years in Singapore as APAC Hub for Sustainable Intralogistics

Jungheinrich marks 25 years in Singapore, highlighting electrification leadership, automation expertise, regional expansion and sustainability across Asia-Pacific markets.

SINGAPORE: Jungheinrich has marked 25 years in Singapore, celebrating the city-state’s evolution into a strategic Asia-Pacific (APAC) hub for sustainable material handling and intralogistics solutions.

The milestone was commemorated with an anniversary gala dinner at Pan Pacific Orchard Singapore on August 28, attended by Thomas Motak, Deputy Head of Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to Singapore, and Nadine Despineux, Member of the Board of Management and Chief Sales Officer of Jungheinrich.

Since establishing its Singapore operation on February 21, 2001, as its first country unit in APAC, Jungheinrich has expanded its regional footprint to eight country units and 14 partner companies, supported by more than 1,500 employees.

The Singapore operation now oversees key regional functions including training, automation, dealer management, sales, customer service and human resources, while also hosting the company’s APAC spare-parts distribution centre.

Jungheinrich Singapore has supplied more than 7,000 machines locally and implemented over 100 warehouse solutions. The company has positioned itself as one of Singapore’s few full-liner providers, offering warehouse trucks, racking, automation, digital solutions and customer service.

The company estimates it holds a 25% share of Singapore’s electrified material-handling machine market, reflecting its longstanding focus on replacing conventional equipment with electric alternatives.

Sustainability

Its 150-strong Singapore workforce includes 50 technicians supporting customers across the logistics sector. In May 2024, the company also opened APAC’s first Jungheinrich Experience Centre in Singapore, showcasing warehouse technologies and product innovation.

Sustainability remains central to its next phase. Jungheinrich aims for a fully green-energy service fleet by 2030 and Carbon Neutrality by 2030 for Scope 1 emissions.

Since 2024, its Singapore and Malaysia operations have also worked with APE Malaysia under the “The Environment Wins Twice” campaign, planting 455 trees by 2025 for electric forklift sales.
