Denmark Launches Green Transition Alliance to Support Malaysia’s Sustainability Goals

Denmark reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Malaysia’s green transition during Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen’s visit for the reopening of the Royal Danish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

Denmark launched the Green Transition Alliance to foster partnerships between Danish and Malaysian stakeholders, focusing on renewable energy, green fuels, energy efficiency, and waste management. The initiative aims to help Malaysia achieve its carbon neutrality goal by 2050.

Denmark and Malaysia share a longstanding partnership on sustainable development, with over 100 Danish companies operating in Malaysia. Between January and October 2024, bilateral trade grew by 12.9% to RM2.19 billion.
