The new Pangkor Marina office expands Derani Yachts’ presence across Southeast Asia
PANGKOR MARINA, Malaysia – Sept. 3, 2025 – Derani Yachts marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of its Malaysia branch at Pangkor Marina, officiated by Mohd Radzi Manan, Chairman of the Malaysian International Boat Show (MYBOS). The ceremony drew dignitaries including Ahmad Faizal Azumu and spouses Normah Hanum and Dr Nomee, underscoring the event’s prominence in the regional marine sector.
Radzi praised the development as a boon for Malaysia’s boating industry, noting, “Wherever Mr. Håkan is present, I see business—that is always a good sign.” Attendees enjoyed sea trials and viewings of standout models: the Axopar 29 Cross Cabin, blending sporty performance with versatility, and the Greenline 40 Hybrid, offering eco-friendly luxury and comfort.
Founder and Managing Director Håkan Lange reflected on deep roots, saying, “We started selling boats here in the 1990s, so this feels like coming home.” He emphasized people-centric growth: “This industry is about partners and clients; together, we live the dream.”
The festivities spilled into a lively waterfront BBQ, fostering connections among guests, clients, and locals, embodying Derani’s community-focused ethos. Dato Radzi called for collaborative efforts to bolster support services, envisioning vibrant hubs from Langkawi to Johor and East Malaysia.
This expansion bolsters Derani’s Southeast Asian footprint alongside its Phuket base and Singapore partners, providing sales, brokerage, after-sales support, and trials for premium brands. Amid regional cutbacks, Lange remains bullish: “This is the right time for strategic partnerships; we’re eyeing Indonesia by year-end.” With Malaysia’s stunning cruising grounds, the branch positions the nation as an emerging yachting powerhouse.
