Proton Surpasses 2024 Sales in Q3 2025, Boosts Market Share Amid TIV Dip

SUBANG JAYA, 3 October 2025 – Proton capped Q3 2025 with robust September sales of 13,395 units (domestic + export), lifting year-to-date (YTD) figures to 114,297 units—0.9% ahead of 2024. This performance comes as Total Industry Volume (TIV) fell 21.7% to 57,169 units, elevating Proton’s market share to 23.4% for the month and 19.9% YTD, its strongest yet, amid fierce competition.

The Proton X50 dominated as Malaysia’s top SUV for the second month, delivering 3,438 units with 88% buyers upgrading and 33% new to the brand. YTD X50 sales reached 21,154 units, up 24.4%. Other models shone: X70 sales grew 10.1% YTD to 6,033 units; X90 led D-segment SUVs with 194 deliveries; Saga sold 6,058 units, ranking fourth nationally; S70 topped C-segment sedans at 979 units; Persona and Iriz added 1,161 and 278 units.

Exports peaked at 815 units in September, YTD at 3,959 (up 56%), led by X50 (+220%) and Saga (+14%). The e.MAS 7 maintained EV leadership. “Q3 has been exceptional; we’ll sustain momentum for 2026 targets,” said Deputy CEO Zhang Qiang.
