RM50mil Spent on First Day of Sara Appreciation Programme Disbursement

Over RM50mil was spent on the first day of the RM100 one-off disbursement under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) Appreciation Programme, according to the Finance Ministry. As of 9.30pm Sunday (Aug 31), about 850,000 eligible Malaysians had used the aid despite a temporary system glitch caused by overwhelming transaction volume. The ministry, together with MyKasih Foundation, has boosted system capacity to ensure smoother transactions starting Sept 1. Scheduled maintenance was also conducted Sunday night to stabilise operations. Apologising for the inconvenience, the ministry pledged continuous monitoring to ensure the initiative benefits recipients without further disruption.
