FS-ISAC Appoints Valerie Abend as New CEO, Succeeding Steven Silberstein

SINGAPORE, Sept 5 — FS-ISAC has appointed Valerie Abend as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 3, 2025, following the retirement of Steven Silberstein. Abend, a seasoned cybersecurity and resilience leader with over 30 years of public and private sector experience, previously served as Accenture’s Global Financial Services Security Lead. She has advised global financial institutions, boards, and regulators on managing cyber risks and strengthening resilience. FS-ISAC Board Chair Kristopher Fador hailed Abend’s appointment as a strong step forward, while Abend pledged to advance the financial sector’s defences amid rising cyber threats and geopolitical uncertainty.
