Global stock markets ended mostly lower on Tuesday as technology shares came under pressure, with semiconductor losses weighing on Asian markets and Wall Street.
In the United States, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 180.45 points, or 0.35%, to 51,670.10. The S&P 500 slipped 0.02% to 7,805.45, while the Nasdaq declined 0.15% to 27,204.38.

Weakness in semiconductor stocks and mixed third-quarter bank earnings offset some support from easing Treasury yields and crude oil prices.
European equities also edged lower, with the STOXX Europe 600 falling 0.1% to 635.01 as technology shares dropped 1.6%.
Asian markets were broadly weaker. South Korea’s KOSPI plunged 5.46%, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 lost 1.82%, amid sharp semiconductor selling. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gained 0.3%, while China’s Shanghai Composite edged up 0.1%.
The International Monetary Fund raised its 2026 global growth forecast to 3.1% from 3.0%, citing continued investment related to artificial intelligence.
However, elevated oil prices, rising bond yields, geopolitical tensions and a potential correction in AI investment were identified as significant downside risks to the global economic outlook.
