Global Sustainability Leaders Gather at ISW 2026 to Drive Net Positive Cities

International Sustainability Week 2026 will unite global experts in Kuala Lumpur to explore net positive development, climate resilience, sustainable urban growth and practical solutions for future-ready cities.

International Sustainability Week (ISW) 2026 will bring together global sustainability leaders, policymakers, urban planners and industry experts to explore how cities can move beyond net zero and build resilient, economically competitive communities.

The International Green Build Conference (IGBC), the flagship event of ISW 2026, will take place on Sept 10 and 11 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). The conference aims to bridge the gap between sustainability ambitions and practical implementation as cities worldwide confront climate change, rapid urbanisation and growing infrastructure demands.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof will deliver a keynote on Malaysia’s sustainability priorities, while Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh will outline Kuala Lumpur’s pathway towards net zero.

The programme features international experts discussing net positive development, resilient infrastructure, climate adaptation, urban planning and clean energy solutions. Speakers include Arup Global Environment, Climate and Sustainability Leader Joan Ko, alongside representatives from UN-Habitat, Terra Praxis, Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority and other global organisations.

Sessions will examine topics ranging from flood resilience and biodiversity restoration to transit-oriented development, governance, digital innovation and decarbonisation strategies that support economic growth.

Datuk Seri FD Iskandar, Chairman of GreenRE and Co-Chair of ISW 2026, said sustainability has evolved from compliance into a strategic advantage, while Qube Integrated Malaysia Executive Chairman Richard Teo said the event offers practical insights and partnerships that organisations can apply in their own sustainability journeys.
