Gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia ends lower

The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, mirroring the performance of COMEX gold futures. At the close, the spot month June 2024 contract slightly decreased to US$2,322.4 per troy ounce from US$2,322.9 per troy ounce the previous day.

Similarly, the July 2024 contract edged down to US$2,329.2 per troy ounce from US$2,329.7 per troy ounce.

Contracts for August 2024, September 2024, October 2024, and December 2024 also saw marginal declines, settling at US$2,344.8 per troy ounce, compared to US$2,344.9 per troy ounce yesterday.

Trading volume dropped to five lots from eight lots on Thursday, while open interest slightly decreased to 25 contracts from the previous 26 contracts.

The price of physical gold stood at US$2,310.80 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on June 13.
