Grab Malaysia Unveils EV-Only Fleet for KLIA Rides, Boosting Green Mobility
KLIA – June 24, 2025. Grab Malaysia launched its first EV-only fleet for airport rides at KLIA, officiated by Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook. Featuring the BYD M6 MPV, the service, bookable via the Grab app, supports Malaysia’s Green Economy and Grab’s 2040 carbon neutrality goal. Collaborating with BYD Sime Motors, Yinson GreenTech, and Power-Up Tech, the initiative promotes sustainable mobility.
An EV Lounge enhances passenger comfort, aligning with the National Transport Policy 2019–2030 and MOT Strategic Plan 2021–2025, aiming to boost EV adoption and improve travel experiences at a key transport hub.
“By prioritising routes with high visibility and demand such as KLIA, we aim to demonstrate the practicality and comfort of EVs while driving greater awareness among consumers. This launch marks an important milestone in reshaping the DNA of on-demand public transport toward low or zero emission modes, making sustainable mobility more accessible for both our driver-partners and passengers. This supports our broader goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.” says Rashid Shukor, Director of Country Operations and Mobility, Grab Malaysia.
