The University’s Pro-Chancellor, Datuk (Dr) Nicol Ann David, elegantly doffed her graduation cap during the conferment ceremony of Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik
Heriot-Watt University Malaysia celebrated a significant milestone on 22 November 2025 as around 110 students graduated across multiple disciplines at a ceremony held at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel. Degrees were conferred by the University’s Pro-Chancellor, (Dr) Nicol Ann David, recognising graduates from the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS), the School of Social Sciences (SoSS), the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society (EGIS), and the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences (MACS).
A major highlight was the conferment of an Honorary Doctor of the University (DUniv) upon Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS. The award acknowledged his leadership and contributions to education, sustainable development, the global energy transition, and technological advancement. His role in steering PETRONAS through evolving energy challenges while upholding strong governance and environmental responsibility was also recognised.
The honorary degree underscored Heriot-Watt’s commitment to celebrating leaders whose values align with its Strategy 2050, centred on innovation, sustainability, and creating meaningful global impact.
