Industry leaders back MDEC’s business digitalisation initiative for MSME
Kuala Lumpur, March 28, 2025 — Industry leaders have endorsed the Business Digitalisation Initiative (BDI) by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), hailing it as a game-changer for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Backed by RM1.5 billion in funding through public-private partnerships, the BDI equips MSMEs with tools, funding, and guidance to boost digital adoption, productivity, and competitiveness.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo called it a transformative, business-focused effort by the Madani Government. MDEC CEO Anuar Fariz Fadzil emphasized its role in addressing MSMEs’ challenges—like skills and funding gaps—offering practical solutions, including affordable e-invoicing tools aligned with the Peppol framework.
