Malaysia-Nvidia Pact to Launch RM10 Billion AI Hub with Sovereign LLM

Malaysia is set to become an ASEAN AI hub following a RM10 billion partnership between Nvidia and YTL Power. The project includes building green-powered AI data centres, deploying Nvidia GPUs, and developing a sovereign Malaysian large language model (LLM). Investment Minister Tengku Zafrul said the deal reflects Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s successful international outreach and will spur a local AI ecosystem involving tech partners and contractors.
