YTL Power and NVIDIA Advance Malaysia’s Sovereign AI with Completion of Johor Data Centre
YTL Power International Berhad and NVIDIA have achieved a key milestone in Malaysia’s Sovereign AI initiative with the completion of a state-of-the-art AI data centre at the 600MW YTL Green Data Center Park in Kulai, Johor. The facility, powered by liquid-cooled NVL72 Grace Blackwell GPUs, supports Malaysia’s growing AI ecosystem, including the country’s first large language model, ILMU.
The development aligns with national efforts to establish a secure, self-sustaining AI infrastructure through the creation of a Sovereign AI Cloud and upskilling programmes. Malaysia has also launched a National AI Office to coordinate AI adoption across industries. The YTL-NVIDIA collaboration strengthens the nation’s position as a regional hub for data centre and AI innovation, enhancing digital resilience and supporting sustainable technological growth.
