Bullish market but caution is advised on potential risks with the looming threat of a US recession and geopolitical tensions while "Investors tread cautiously"
Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) aims to have at least three Bumiputera companies listed on Bursa Malaysia by 2026 under the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA35). Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang said the initiative identifies and strengthens high-potential Bumiputera firms to expand globally.
“Our initial target is three by 2026, but we are hopeful for more,” she said after launching the Mara Ecosystem Automotive (Matec) 2025 event in Kuala Lumpur. She highlighted Bateriku (M) Sdn Bhd as one of the firms set for listing. Rubiah added that Mara will continue enhancing Bumiputera participation in the automotive industry, where it has already supported over 2,000 ventures. Matec 2025 saw a surge in performance, with sales reaching RM50 million and over 40,000 visitors, compared to RM16.6 million and 20,000 visitors last year.
