Malaysian Man Fatally Shot in Thai Border Town: Security Tightened
In a major blow to drug traffickers, Malaysia’s Customs Department raided a double-storey house in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, on Dec 2, uncovering 638kg of high-grade cannabis buds valued at RM62.5 million—the year’s biggest haul.
Deputy director-general Siti Mang revealed the premises, rented since September, was used for repacking drugs concealed in microfibre bedsheet packaging for export. After two weeks of surveillance, officers found the stash in 17 boxes but no suspects—the syndicate apparently bolted upon detecting the raid. Seized items included a motorcycle, vacuum sealer, and scales. The case falls under the Dangerous Drugs Act.
