Matrade boost to construction sector

The Trade Commissioner highlighted potential areas like construction, highways, clean water, energy, and telecommunications in Indonesia. The mission resulted in sales of RM334 million through over 93 business meetings, including collaborations and a new MoU signed with an Indonesian architectural firm by Arkitek Mustapha Kamal.

In 2022, Malaysia’s construction service exports hit RM6.1 billion, contributing to the country’s RM140.3 billion overall services exports. This success was attributed to Malaysian construction firms’ expertise in various projects like infrastructure, water treatment, and power plants, showcasing their strength in the global market.

“The business networking session serves as a platform for companies to interact and gather information on potential project opportunities as well as to build strategic partnerships with their Indonesian counterparts”, says Mr Suresh R. Palasanthiran, Trade Commissioner of MATRADE Jakarta.
