KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 7, 2026 – MMC Port Holdings Berhad recorded a landmark 2025, exceeding 20 million TEUs across its Malaysian ports, marking the group’s strongest performance yet.
The milestone, fuelled by transformation, digitalisation and infrastructure investments, highlighted Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) surpassing 13-14 million TEUs – a Malaysian first – with records like 189,306 weekly moves and selection as a Gemini Cooperation hub.
Northport hit 3.80 million TEUs and 12.90 million FWTs conventional cargo; Johor Port reached 1.08 million TEUs; Penang Port saw 3.13 million ferry passengers (up 9%); Tanjung Bruas Port achieved 31,032 TEUs.
Enhancements included new cranes, electric equipment and optimised systems boosting efficiency.
Chairman Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh called it a “defining chapter” of excellence, while CEO Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof credited initiatives for regional strength ahead of the group’s 20th anniversary in 2026.
