NEW YORK, Oct 6, 2026 – Global equities advanced Monday, led by the Nasdaq Composite which surged 1.05% to a record close of 27,477.31, as traders looked past rising U.S. Treasury yields. The S&P 500 gained 0.66% to 7,773.95, while the Dow added 0.18% to 51,267.90.
AI‑linked stocks drove momentum, with SpaceX jumping over 7%, Meta Platforms rising nearly 2% and Microsoft climbing more than 1%. The ISM services PMI registered 54.9% in September, broadly in line with expectations.

Brent crude eased to around $100 a barrel, while WTI slipped to $89, providing relief to energy‑sensitive sectors.
In Europe, the STOXX 600 rose 0.36% to 633.62, supported by easing oil prices and defensive buying. Asian markets were mixed: Japan’s Nikkei 225 surged 2.40%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng edged up 0.28%, while South Korea’s KOSPI was closed for a holiday.
