S P Setia, Gentari Ink MoU on Green Mobility Collaboration

S P Setia and Gentari partner to enhance EV charging infrastructure in Malaysia, promoting sustainable communities.

SHAH ALAM, Oct 6, 2026 – Property developer S P Setia Berhad (“Setia”) and clean energy solutions company Gentari, through its subsidiary Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore strategic collaboration in clean energy and green mobility solutions. The partnership includes potential deployment of electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities at selected Setia developments.

Under the MoU, both parties will assess opportunities for identifying, installing, operating and maintaining EV charging facilities across Setia’s residential, commercial and integrated township projects. The collaboration also aims to promote EV adoption, improve visibility and access to charging infrastructure, and explore future business ventures in clean energy.

Setia President and CEO Datuk Zaini Yusoff said the initiative reflects Setia’s commitment to building sustainable communities and enhancing liveability. “Making EV charging more accessible within our townships is a practical step towards greener mobility, reducing reliance on petrol and supporting Malaysia’s transition to a low-carbon future,” he said.

Gentari’s Chief Green Mobility Officer, Fadzrul Ahmad, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the company’s role as a trusted ecosystem partner in delivering high-performance EV charging at scale. “Through our collaboration with Setia, we aim to integrate charging infrastructure into thriving communities, making EV adoption more practical and convenient,” he said.

Gentari, wholly owned by PETRONAS, operates across renewable energy, hydrogen and green mobility, with a growing presence in Asia Pacific. The collaboration underscores both companies’ shared vision of sustainable, future-ready communities.
