US Feds no rate hike a boost for local market
The market is expected to trade within a range as investors await the US presidential election results and a possible 25bps rate cut by the Federal Reserve on Nov 7, with a 94.1% probability according to the CME FedWatch tool. In Malaysia, Bank Negara is anticipated to maintain its OPR due to resilient economic activity. The Healthcare sector may see buying interest on speculation that Donald Trump could reintroduce high tariffs on Chinese imports if re-elected. The FBM KLCI gained 0.3%, reversing earlier losses, while the Healthcare sector rose 0.7%, and the Industrial Product and Services sector fell 1.5%.
