PTP Achieves Milestone with First Methanol Bunkering Operation

The Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) successfully completed its first methanol bunkering operation, fueling Maersk’s dual-fuel methanol vessel Antonia Maersk. This milestone reflects PTP’s readiness to handle alternative marine fuels, enhancing its position as a leading regional port. PTP Chairman Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh and CEO Mark Hardiman highlighted the collaboration with Maersk, the Malaysian Government, and industry partners to ensure safety and efficiency through rigorous preparation. PTP has also maintained high operational performance, consistently handling over one million TEUs monthly and earning recognition as the fifth most efficient container port globally in 2023.
