Redress Design Award 2025 Crowns Two Winners, Urges Action on Fashion Waste Crisis

HONG KONG — The Redress Design Award 2025, the world’s leading sustainable fashion competition, named two joint First Prize winners for the first time in its 15-year history. French designer Hugo Dumas impressed with an upcycled, zero-waste collection, while China’s Carla Zhang created intricate handwoven designs from surplus cords and yarns. The competition, organised by Hong Kong NGO Redress, highlights urgent solutions to fashion’s mounting waste problem, with only 0.3% of the global textile industry currently circular. Winners will showcase their collections at Shanghai GREENEXT Expo 2025, spotlighting Asia’s role in driving sustainable and circular fashion innovation.
