KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — SME Corp. Malaysia has partnered with Shariah-compliant peer-to-peer platform microLEAP to roll out the Business Accelerator Programme (BAP) Alternative Financing 2025, offering RM35 million in financing for SMEs. Eligible businesses can access up to RM400,000 at a 3.5% annual profit rate, with up to 40% convertible into grants for those with strong repayment records. The scheme supports working capital and business improvements, including ESG adoption, ICT upgrades, and certification. With this initiative, total allocations under the SME Corp-microLEAP collaboration since 2021 now stand at RM70 million, aimed at boosting SME growth and financial inclusion.
