Taiwan’s export orders surged to a record USD114.21 billion in September 2026, extending August’s breakthrough above the USD100 billion mark as global demand for artificial intelligence-related technology remained exceptionally strong, according to Reuters.
The latest figures showed export orders rose 62.4% year-on-year, moderating from the 71.4% increase recorded in August but remaining at historically elevated levels. Demand was led by information and communication products, electronic goods, machinery and semiconductor-related components, underpinned by continued investment in AI infrastructure and data-centre capacity worldwide.
According to MBSB, the ability of Taiwan to sustain export orders above USD100 billion for a second consecutive month highlights the strength of the global AI investment cycle.

While growth in key categories such as information technology products and electronics eased from August’s pace, demand for advanced semiconductors, AI servers and related technologies remained robust.
Regional demand also stayed broad-based, with export orders from the United States rising 79.4% year-on-year, followed by Europe at 68.0%, Mainland China and Hong Kong at 48.5%, ASEAN at 41.1%, and Japan at 35.5%. MBSB said the strong performance across major markets points to resilient underlying demand heading into the year-end period.
