Toyota Unveils 9th-Generation Hilux: A Tougher, Smarter Pickup Built for a Sustainable Future
BANGKOK, Nov 10 — Toyota Motor Thailand has unveiled the 9th-generation Hilux, marking a bold evolution of its globally trusted pickup line. The new model, developed under Toyota’s “Mobility for All” philosophy, combines toughness with forward-thinking design, offering both internal combustion engine (ICE) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants.
Built through collaboration between Toyota’s engineering teams in Thailand and Australia, the Hilux continues the legacy of the IMV project, launched in 2004 to bring localized mobility solutions worldwide. Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries described the new Hilux as “a vehicle shaped by real voices, cultures, and communities.”
Engineered for reliability and versatility, the 9th-generation Hilux features enhanced body rigidity, refined suspension, and electric power steering for greater comfort and control. Toyota aims to roll out the model across selected markets from FY2026, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and long-term customer trust.
