Trump wins the Presidential race - WIKI
HAVANA/WASHINGTON, March 16 — US President Donald Trump issued one of his most explicit threats against Cuba, vowing to “take” the communist island as it endured a nationwide blackout linked to Washington’s crippling oil embargo. Havana’s ageing power grid collapsed in a “complete shutdown,” according to Union Nacional Electrica, leaving 9.6 million people in darkness.
The embargo has halted oil imports since January, hammering Cuba’s economy and forcing airlines to cut flights, dealing a blow to tourism. Trump told reporters he believed he had “the honour of taking Cuba,” describing the nation as weakened.
Popular unrest is mounting, with food and medicine shortages sparking nightly protests. Demonstrators vandalised a Communist Party office in Moron, leading to 14 arrests. Meanwhile, Cuba announced new measures allowing exiles to invest and own businesses, signalling attempts to ease economic pressure amid US demands for leadership change.
