Visa’s Consumer Payment Attitudes study in Malaysia reveals that 80% of consumers aim to minimize their environmental impact, with digital payments seen as eco-friendly. Mobile wallets (94%), internet banking (93%), and cards (90%) top the list.
About 39% actively reduce environmental impact, and 41% plan to. Over 43% support brands investing in ESG and sustainability, with 15% willing to pay extra. Malaysians prefer sustainable payment cards (68%) and seek personalized education on sustainable consumption (63%).
Furthermore, 56% are willing to donate reward points for green causes, emphasizing support for combatting pollution, waste management, and sustainability.
