Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport confirmed on 2 October 2026 that digital services company Zetrix AI Bhd, formerly known as MyEG Services Bhd, owes the federal government more than RM200 million in unremitted public collections.
A ministry spokesman confirmed the arrears to The Edge, following an earlier report by The Straits Times that the e-government concessionaire had failed to transfer funds collected on behalf of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) for vehicle road tax, driving licence renewals, and traffic summonses. Citing official government documents, the Singapore daily reported that Zetrix AI had withheld the collections since the very start of its three-year service contract in May 2023.
An unnamed government official said the ministry is weighing its options. Separately, JPJ announced it will suspend all services offered through the MYEG Group from 5 October, citing unresolved contractual obligations covering both My E.G. Services Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Berhad.
The company built Malaysia’s e-government delivery network under its former MyEG identity, pioneering online public service portals through a long-running partnership with JPJ dating back to 2000.
Despite the unremitted government revenues, Zetrix AI reported strong underlying financial performance, posting a net profit of RM269.3 million for the second quarter ended 30 June 2026, bringing its net profit for the first half of the financial year to RM540.58 million. Its latest annual report showed other payables of RM95.5 million, short-term loans and borrowings of RM577.4 million, and non-current liabilities of RM1.25 billion.
The dispute puts fresh scrutiny on the government’s long-standing outsourcing arrangement with the company for essential public services, as authorities decide how to recover the outstanding funds.
