70% of Malaysians are happy at work, but stress, burnout tell a different story
70% of Malaysians report feeling happy at work, reflecting generally positive workplace sentiment.
However, Jobstreet by SEEK’s latest Workplace Happiness Index reveals a more nuanced reality where stress, burnout and unmet needs continue to shape the employee experience.
Jobstreet by SEEK surveyed up to 1,000 working Malaysians aged 18 to 64 to understand how employees feel about their roles today and what employers can do to build more supportive and productive workplaces.
The findings show a clear shift. Salary still matters, but purpose, supportive cultures and manageable workloads now play a critical role in sustaining workplace happiness. Employers that address these areas can drive stronger engagement, productivity and retention.
