KUALA LUMPUR, 30 October 2025 – The ASEAN Foundation, in partnership with SAP, concluded the ASEAN Data Science Explorers (ASEAN DSE) 2025 Regional Finals, uniting 22 students from 10 ASEAN Member States. The competition showcased youth-led, data-driven innovations tackling key socio-economic and environmental challenges aligned with six Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Team DataMinions from Lao PDR emerged as the regional winner with their Namjai Smart Water Tank, a solution that filters and monitors water quality while alerting households and authorities to contamination risks. Team Mamamamoodeng from Thailand and Malaysia’s Team MyKXLab were named first and second runner-ups.
Malaysia’s MyKXLab presented Green Circular Credit Scoring (GCCS) and GreenLoop, aiming to enhance plastic recycling rates and promote circular economy adoption across ASEAN.
