e.MAS 7
Proton Holdings Bhd is optimistic about sustaining Malaysia’s strong automotive sales momentum into 2025, driven by a stable economy and improved wages. Deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah cited salary increases for civil servants and a revised minimum wage as factors likely to boost vehicle purchases.
Speaking at the launch of Proton’s first electric vehicle (EV), the e.MAS 7, officiated by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Roslan emphasized the sector’s growth potential. The e.MAS 7, a fully green, zero-emission vehicle, aligns with Malaysia’s net-zero goals. Proton has also bolstered its EV strategy with a new R&D center in Hangzhou Bay, China.
