Bursa Malaysia slips over 17 points as Middle East tensions weigh on market

Bursa Malaysia’s key index declined more than 17 points early this week as investor risk appetite softened amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, analysts said, with selling seen across various blue-chip stocks. 

Malaysia equities fall as traders react to global tensions

Among gainers were Petronas Chemicals and Hibiscus Petroleum, while major losers included Nestle (M) and Fraser & Neave as market breadth remained mixed. 

Analysts advised investors to monitor defensive stocks and global developments closely, as continued geopolitical uncertainty may sustain volatility in local markets.
