CapitaLand’s largest consumer giveaway in Malaysia concludes with smart #1 Premium Car grand prize winner

Kuala Lumpur, 12 December 2025 – CapitaLand’s “SHOP SMART WIN smart” campaign has concluded with a shopper driving off with a smart #1 Premium electric vehicle (EV). With prizes worth more than RM400,000 and an EV as its top reward, this was CapitaLand’s largest consumer giveaway in Malaysia to date.

The campaign, held from March to October 2025 and in partnership with Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET), a subsidiary of Malaysia’s national carmaker, PROTON, aimed to engage shoppers through mall activities. The campaign was part of CapitaLand’s commitment to deliver rewarding experiences to its shoppers.

During the prize-giving ceremony on 6 December 2025, five lucky finalists each chose a key and attempted to unlock the smart #1 Premium. It was an unforgettable moment when Lim Ho Ming, a 49-year-old engineer from Petaling Jaya, successfully opened the car and drove home with the ultimate reward—a brand-new smart #1 Premium EV worth RM209,000. This milestone giveaway underscores CapitaLand’s commitment to delivering exciting, meaningful and rewarding experiences for shoppers across Malaysia.

Lim’s winning journey began unexpectedly during a family outing at 3 Damansara Mall. “My son spotted the contest poster and kept urging me to join—so I did,” Lim recalled after receiving his prize at Gurney Plaza, Penang.

When Lim received the call inviting him to the final round, disbelief was his first reaction. He thought it was too good to be true. “I left PJ at dawn and drove up alone to Penang just to make sure I didn’t miss the finals.”

Currently driving a Toyota Altis, Lim says the new smart #1 Premium will be the family’s “new icon of joy.”

Selina Ng, Managing Director, Retail, CapitaLand Investment (Malaysia), said: “This campaign demonstrates how we continually enhance the shopping experience for our customers. By collaborating with PRO-NET, we were able to introduce an exciting element that combines lifestyle and sustainability, offering shoppers the chance to win a smart #1 Premium EV. We look forward to bringing more exciting experiences and meaningful rewards to our customers in the future.”

Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET, added: “Today’s event is more than just a prize-giving ceremony. It is a celebration of innovation and sustainability. The smart #1 Premium represents the future of mobility, and we are proud to partner with CapitaLand to share this vision with Malaysians. Seeing the excitement on stage today reminds us why partnerships like this matter – they inspire people and create unforgettable experiences.”

The event was graced by representatives from CapitaLand Investment (Malaysia), PRO-NET and Eleganz Lifestyle Sdn. Bhd., PRO-NET’s authorised dealer in Penang.
