Construction & Building Materials Expo, Malaysia Power & Electricity Expo and SUBCON 2026 Launch Date

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 15 January 2026: Ace Group and Genesis Global Group, in collaboration with Astrovison FZCO, successfully hosted the media launch of the Malaysia Construction & Building Materials Expo and the Malaysia Power & Electricity Expo on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The expos are jointly organized with the Malaysian Sub-Contractors Association (MSCA) and will be held in conjunction with SUBCON 2026.The exhibitions are scheduled to take place on 11–12 February 2026 at Hall 4, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur.

The Malaysia Construction & Building Materials Expo and the Malaysia Power & Electricity Expo are supported by the ASEAN India Economic Council (AIEC) and Malaysia India Business Council (MIBC), while SUBCON 2026 is organized by the Malaysian Sub-Contractors Association (MSCA).

Industry Vision and Regional Collaboration

Addressing members of the media, Dato’ Ramesh Kodammal, Chairman of Goldtex Group of Companies and Chairman of the ASEAN India Economic Council (AIEC), Malaysia, stated that the upcoming events will be among the largest industry exhibitions of the year, with a strong focus on the construction, building materials, power, and electricity sectors.

He emphasized that the co-location of the expos with SUBCON 2026 is aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s sub-contractor industry while expanding engagement beyond Malaysia to the wider ASEAN region. This regional platform, he noted, will also create new opportunities for collaboration with Indian counterparts.

Dato’ Ramesh highlighted the long-standing bilateral relationship between Malaysia and India—dating back to India’s independence in 1947 and Malaysia’s independence in 1957—which has since evolved into a strong and enduring partnership.

He further stressed that the construction and sub-contractor industries must move beyond traditional activities such as plumbing, cementing, and road construction, and instead focus on security solutions, advanced technologies, financial collaboration, and innovative business models. He encouraged sub-contractors to build new industry connections, explore joint ventures, form strategic partnerships, and adopt innovative financial structures to progress collectively.

Through this exhibition initiative, Dato’ Ramesh expressed the aim of strengthening MSCA as a powerful industry platform while linking regional and international associations. He called on industry players to actively participate on 11–12 February 2026, engage with exhibitors and delegates from India, China, Türkiye, Thailand, Singapore, and other countries, and build stronger regional and global networks.

He also expressed confidence that the Malaysia Sub-Contractors Association will emerge as one of the leading industry associations in the coming years. The expo is expected to feature more than 100 exhibitors from India, China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Türkiye, Singapore, and other countries over the two-day event.

Strengthening Trust in the Sub-Contractor Ecosystem

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Chandra L. Ramprakash, President of the Malaysian Sub-Contractors Association (MSCA), addressed concerns regarding sub-contractors’ hesitation to associate with MSCA. He explained that MSCA has introduced a Verified Contractor System, under which members undergo comprehensive assessments, including financial background checks, workforce capability, and operational credibility, before being granted verified status.

This initiative, he said, enhances transparency, protects industry stakeholders, and builds trust across the construction ecosystem.

Mr. Chandra further emphasized that SUBCON 2026 is not a standalone event but a comprehensive industry platform held jointly with the Malaysia Power & Electricity Expo and the Malaysia Construction & Building Materials Expo. The exhibitions will showcase construction materials, power and electrical solutions, and emerging technologies from exhibitors across Malaysia, India, Türkiye, and other countries.

He added that the Malaysia Construction & Building Materials Expo provides an excellent opportunity for market players to source new materials, launch products, and showcase innovations, making it a valuable platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders seeking to expand their regional footprint.
