DEEP Manufacturing Showcases WAAM Breakthroughs for Asia’s Energy Sector at OGA 2025

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 21 August 2025 — UK-based DEEP Manufacturing Ltd will spotlight its Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) solutions at Oil & Gas Asia 2025, highlighting how the technology strengthens supply chain resilience and accelerates component production for Asia’s energy industry.

WAAM, a metal additive process that builds parts layer by layer using wire feedstock, eliminates the need for forging or casting, offering faster lead times, lower setup costs, and design flexibility. DEEP Manufacturing recently achieved DNV CP-026 certification for WAAM-produced pressure vessels, proving the method’s commercial viability.

“Our work shows WAAM can match forged parts in strength and performance, but be delivered in a fraction of the time,” said Peter Richards, CEO of DEEP Manufacturing.

With reduced material waste and no need for costly tooling, WAAM enables on-site customisation—especially valuable for offshore and remote projects where logistics and delays pose risks. Originally developed for subsea applications, the technology now serves defence, aerospace, maritime, and energy sectors.

“WAAM is becoming a strategic enabler for Asia’s operators, offering agility and future-proofing for critical infrastructure,” Peter added.
