Huawei ICT Competition 2025-2026 concluded in Shenzhen, recognizing top student innovators from around the world while promoting AI education, digital skills development, and international collaboration.
The Huawei ICT Competition 2025-2026 Global Final concluded in Shenzhen, marking the largest edition of the event since its launch a decade ago. More than 220,000 university students and faculty members from over 2,000 institutions across more than 100 countries and regions participated in this year’s competition.
Following national and regional rounds, 177 teams from 49 countries and regions advanced to the Global Final. Outstanding teams competed across the Practice, Innovation, and Programming tracks, with 18 teams from China, Nigeria, Singapore, Algeria, Brazil, Egypt, Kenya, and the Dominican Republic earning Grand Prize honors.
Huawei also recognized achievements beyond technical excellence through several special awards. The Women in Tech Award was presented to seven all-female teams from Azerbaijan, Nigeria, Kenya, China, and Bahrain. Meanwhile, teams from Ghana and China received the Green Development Award for projects supporting sustainable development goals.
Speaking at the Closing and Awards Ceremony, Ritchie Peng, President of Huawei ICT Strategy & Business Development Department, highlighted the competition’s role in promoting innovation and addressing real-world challenges through technology. He also announced the launch of a new Ascend AI Operator Development Track in mainland China for the next edition, aimed at helping young developers gain hands-on experience with advanced AI technologies.
The event also featured the AI Accelerating Education Transformation Summit, where educators and industry leaders discussed the growing role of artificial intelligence in education. During the summit, Huawei introduced its ICT Academy AI Course Solution, designed to provide universities with a structured pathway for AI learning and talent development.
As industries worldwide continue their digital transformation, demand for skilled professionals in AI, cybersecurity, computing, and big data remains strong. Through its expanding competition tracks and university partnerships, Huawei aims to help bridge the global talent gap while equipping students with practical skills needed for the digital economy.
