PETALING JAYA: The Immigration Department busted two syndicates involved in selling fake e-temporary work permits (PLKS) in a special operation on July 10. The first group, known as the “Zakeer” syndicate, saw the arrest of three Bangladeshi men in Jalan Pudu. Authorities seized 130 Bangladeshi and three Indonesian passports, as well as mobile phones. The syndicate charged between RM2,500 and RM6,000 per application and had operated for about a year. The second syndicate, dubbed “Shaheed,” was dismantled in Ampang Baru. Two Pakistani men and a Myanmar national were arrested. One suspect had a valid PLKS, another had overstayed, and the Myanmar individual held a UNHCR card. Officers seized five foreign passports and 24 fake “Malaysia Pass” stickers. This group offered services priced between RM80 and RM500. Investigations into both syndicates are ongoing.
