Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), in collaboration with PETCO Trading Labuan Company Limited (PTLCL), a PETRONAS trading arm, celebrated a significant milestone with the completion of their 100th LNG Bunkering Operation.
This achievement began with Malaysia’s first LNG Bunker spot supply to the vessel “MV Siem Aristotle” in November 2020.
The 100th bunkering operation took place on July 28, 2023, for the Newcastle Max size Bulk Carrier “Mount Norafjell,” surpassing Singapore in terms of the number of LNG Bunkering operations and total bunkered tonnage. Johor Port is now recognized as the most active LNG Bunkering port in Asia with a total bunkered tonnage of over 100,000 metric tons.
The success underscores their commitment to efficient Marine Services, safety, and Malaysia’s role as an LNG Bunkering Hub in Asia.
The milestone was celebrated at an event on October 23, 2023, attended by industry leaders from both organizations.
