Johor Port Secures 3 Diamond Recognition for Low-Carbon Achievements

Johor Port Berhad, a member of MMC Group, has earned the prestigious 3 Diamond Recognition at the Majlis Anugerah Bandar Rendah Karbon 2025, marking a milestone in its sustainability journey. The award, presented by NRES Minister YB Dato’ Sri Arthur Joseph Kurup to CEO Md Derick Basir, acknowledges Johor Port’s measurable progress in reducing its carbon footprint while sustaining operational performance.

Diamond Recognition

Under the Low Carbon Zone category of the Low Carbon City Challenge 2030, Johor Port achieved a 14.96% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions compared to its 2019 baseline, mitigating over 2,100 tCO₂e through energy, water, and waste management initiatives. The port also preserved green areas, contributing a 15.41% carbon sequestration potential annually.

This recognition reinforces Johor Port’s ESG 2030 roadmap, highlighting its role in Pasir Gudang’s transformation into a low-carbon industrial hub and supporting Malaysia’s net-zero ambitions by 2050.
